Unconscious Bias and Cultural Competence in Safeguarding Children

Designed for front line practitioners working with children and families, this course will explore the role bias can play in assessments and the understanding of family dynamic, by exploring personal beliefs and expectations. The discussions will examine how we measure risk to children from different backgrounds. The course will also use case examples to explore how this unfolds in practice.

Please be aware that this course will be delivered via Zoom, and some agency networks, specifically Kent Police, may not support Zoom and therefore may need to access via a different device.
