Voluntary, community and charitable organisations exemption
Small voluntary, community and not-for-profit organisations may apply for an exemption from the KSCMP £50 training administration charge if they meet all of the following criteria:
1. The organisation must operate on a voluntary, community or not-for-profit basis.
2. The organisation does not receive funding from a Safeguarding Partner organisation. (Safeguarding Partners in Kent are Kent County Council, Kent Police and Kent and Medway NHS Integrated Care Board)
3. The annual turnover of the organisation is less than £100,000.
4. The organisation can demonstrate financial hardship. The organisation must demonstrate that paying the training charge would place an unreasonable financial burden on its operations and that it has no alternative funding routes to cover the charge.
5. The organisation is providing services that align with safeguarding children aims. The organisation must show that its work involves children, families, or communities in a way that contributes to local safeguarding children priorities.
Any organisation which meets these criteria can make an application for an exemption to the charge using the application form. The application must be made for each place on a course for which the organisation wishes an exemption to apply.
Once a completed application has been received, the KSCMP Business Team will review the information to determine if an exemption will be granted. A response will aim to be sent within 10 working days of the completed form being received.
If an exemption is granted, it is for the single instance that has been applied for. The KSCMP non-attendance fee is still applicable if the learner does not attend a course for which a space has been booked, without sufficient prior notice to the KSCMP Business Team.
