Low level domestic abuse

Low level domestic abuse refers to an incident where the parents had a verbal argument (no physical violence involved). This would have taken place when the child(ren) was not present at the time (maybe they were in school, or with friends, or extended family i.e. grandparents) and therefore they did not witness the incident.  This therefore limits any direct impact on the child's emotional development.

If there are reports of numerous incidents of low level domestic abuse, this could be a cause for concern as it could indicate ongoing parental relationship pressures that could impact negatively upon the daily lives of all family member including the child(ren).
